Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke on November 21, 1992, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Raised in Lagos after being born in Atlanta, he debuted in music with KB International. His 2012 hit “Dami Duro” from Omo Baba Olowo launched his career, followed by singles like “Skelewu” and “Aye.” In 2016, Davido signed with Sony Music, launched Davido Music Worldwide, and released Son of Mercy. Singles like “If” and “Fall” cemented his global fame, with “Fall” becoming the longest-charting Nigerian pop song on Billboard. His albums A Good Time (2019) and A Better Time (2020) showcased his versatility and influence.

A cultural ambassador for Nigeria, Davido’s 2023 album Timeless received Grammy and NAACP Image Award nominations in 2024. Known for hits like “Unavailable” and “Feel,” his recent songs include “Away,” “Kante,” and “Awuke.” Featured in Time magazine’s Next 100 list, Davido’s impact extends beyond music to human rights advocacy.
