Ado (アド), born October 24, 2002, is a Japanese singer-songwriter who gained national fame with her debut single Usseewa in 2020 at just 17. The track topped multiple charts, including Billboard Japan Hot 100, and amassed over 100 million plays within 17 weeks, marking her as the youngest solo artist to achieve such a feat. In 2022, her song New Genesis, featured as the theme for One Piece Film: Red, achieved global recognition, topping Apple Music’s Global Top 100. Ado is managed by Cloud Nine and continues to be a significant force in the Japanese music industry.

Growing up in Tokyo, Ado’s passion for music began in 2014 when she discovered cover singers on Niconico through her Nintendo 3DS. By 2017, she started her journey as an utaite, uploading covers from a self-built soundproof setup in her closet. Before her debut, she contributed vocals to Kujira’s Kinmokusei and Jon-Yakitory’s Shikabanēze in 2019 and 2020, respectively. She also recorded songs for Pony Canyon’s Palette4 compilation album, showcasing her dynamic vocal range and setting the stage for her meteoric rise in the Japanese music scene.
